NBC Action News to Interview ‘Fiddler’ Actress
January 3, 2012
If you’re eagerly anticipating “Fiddler on the Roof” this weekend at Johnson County Community College, you’ll want to watch NBC Action News Weekend Today show Saturday morning.
Brooke Hills, the actress who plays Tzeitel, Tevye’s eldest daughter, will be interviewed on the newscast at 9:40 a.m. CST.
In the show, Tzeitel sings “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” with Hodel (Sarah Sesler) and Chava (Chelsea LeBel) in the Broadway smash and Tony Award winner.
Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, Tevye the Milkman is a Jewish peasant in pre-Revolutionary Russia, coping with the day-to-day problems of shtetl life, his Jewish traditions, his wife and daughters, and state-sanctioned pogroms.
In addition to “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” Fiddler’s familiar score includes “If I Were a Rich Man;” “Sunrise, Sunset;” and of course, “Tradition.”
Tickets are still available for this weekend’s performances at 8 p.m. on Saturday and at 7 p.m. on Sunday in Yardley Hall in the Carlsen Center.
Buy your tickets online today or purchase tickets by phone, by fax or in person at the JCCC box office. Online service fees apply.
