Three Days of Jazz at JCCC

For the third year in a row, JCCC is offering three days of jazz in January for the public to enjoy.
Two of the nation’s top jazz bands, plus 10 of Kansas City’s best jazz groups, will perform during Jazz Winterlude, which will run from Friday, Jan. 20, through Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Carlsen Center. See the full schedule.
Various forms of jazz will be presented, including contemporary, Kansas City swing and New Orleans style.
The Kansas City Star dubbed Jazz Winterlude this week’s top jazz event.
The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, which will perform Friday, Jan. 20, at 8:30 p.m., likes to integrate straight ahead jazz with influences of funk, blues and world music.

Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band, which performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, serves up a medley of sounds that include soul and salsa.
